The day continues through the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim quarters, with time at the Western Wall and a special rooftop walk above the markets. City of David Underground - Walking Tour
Today is dedicated to the ancient heart of Jerusalem and the underground world beneath the City of David. Begin at the archaeological park where the earliest biblical city once stood, connecting the story of King David, ancient Jerusalem, and the dramatic landscape below the Temple Mount.
Continue into the city’s remarkable water systems and underground routes, including Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the ancient Pilgrimage Road. These sites reveal how Jerusalem functioned in biblical and Second Temple times, from water engineering to ritual pilgrimage. The day also includes the Davidson Archaeological Park and the Southern Temple Mount excavations, where monumental staircases, streets, and ritual baths bring ancient Jerusalem to life.

Day 3
Western Wall Tunnels - Walking Tour
On the final day, explore some of Jerusalem’s most important underground discoveries connected to the Second Temple period. Begin with the Western Wall Tunnels, where the hidden length of the ancient retaining wall reveals massive Herodian stones, underground chambers, and the extraordinary scale of Jerusalem in the time of the Temple.
Continue into the Jewish Quarter to visit archaeological remains that tell the story of daily life, destruction, and renewal in ancient Jerusalem. The Burnt House Museum offers a moving glimpse into the Roman destruction of the city in 70 CE, while nearby excavations reveal layers from the Second Temple, Roman, Byzantine, and later periods. Visit The Herodian Quarter where preist-hood mansions were discovered after the liberation of the city in 1967.
The Tower of David Museum may be added as an optional experience.
